Really simple fix.
LGB standard was having the handles to the side when closed, down when open. Mr. Gravity always dictated that they will fall “down”, and allow the doors to come open.

Now, all one has to do is to pull the black-brown latch off of the back and then turn the handle so that pointing down is “locked” and turning it opens the door.

Yep, either that or leave as is but add a tiny smidgen of silicone on the shaft that goes through the door … and voilà … same result with the handle in the proper position. 
True…but somehow HJ, knowing I can open that door whenever I want was why I went with my method.
Garrett, the silicone is just adding drag, not glueing anything. That’s why it’s a tiny smidgen.
Ahhh, that makes sense now, and now this thread has two ways of solving the same problem.
