I’ve got her almost done and running. She’s smoking good and all new lights.

There’s an O gauge Genesis parked nearby for comments!! No one??
I haven’t decided whether to add an electric coupler to the rear. I’m not sure how much switching an Amtrak train would be doing anyways? I wired the red markers on the front for when she’s a pusher. Maybe I’ll run an engine at each end?? I like them better at the head end only for looks.
Joe…someone stole her trucks
How does one comment on a control system that noone sees in the video???
It sounds and looks good… Nice smoke, but like son said, Who stole the trucks?
I didn’t put the truck’s side frames back on because the body screws need to go on first. The shell was just laying on for testing. They are on now!
… the comments lately compare my G gauge to O gauge. After loading the video, I noticed I had left my O gauge Genesis near the tracks. Clearly those 1/32 scale challengers are at least a little bigger???
It’s not pulling very many cars. There’s a lot of wheel slip. Only pulls less than ten big cars on flat track.
How many cars will yours pull?
Maybe the tires are dried up??
I have just started putting my shell together with parts - had (4) Genny’s in the past and now too pricy for (3). I also have the MTH innards, can you take a picture of the trucks and a closeup if possible for the mounts?
Have the sideframes for now, are you running MTH sideframes?? with Tac strips?
Looks great and sound to match!
No, they’re the LGB trucks. The side frames just screw on with 2 screws towards the outside of the frames. The mounts for the trucks are still stock LGB if that’s what you’re describing??
What pics I could take would just be of the stock LGB and she’s all back together now.
How many cars do each one of yours pull??
I do not have the LGB power trucks, will have to adapt Aristo or USA; only have the sideframes now.
I do not know what the mounts look like, reason for my picture request.
How do have the MTH tach strips mounted?? Your power up and stop sound is right on.
On the operating coupler, have travel the Southwest Chief and only time saw swtiching in action was Albuquerque - with add on express boxcar at end of train; (3) were already on tran. when Amtrak hauled the US Mail: consist itself varied when summer came and Boy Scouts were on train from Chicago to NM for jamboree and return after. Additional coach added.
Normal consist behind (3) wave scheme Gennyt’s was: Sleeper / Coach / Diner / Vista Lounge / Coach / Sleeper; sometimes (2) Sleepers.
The trucks have posts sticking out that the side frames screw on to. The trucks have regular posts sticking out the top for mounting on to the engine. They look like the top of a MTH truck, or USA, etc. I would have to tear the engine all back apart to get a picture of how the truck mounts. However, they are just pieces of plastic with a hole for the truck’s posts. They have slight bumps for the trucks to swivel on hilly track.
Sorry if I’m not clear?
Bob…One screw mounts the bolster with guide screws… very workable locomotive but make no mistakes as the parts by weight are worth more than any precious metal currently.
Hope that helps your question?
David, I like the KD and the fixed pilot detail! Got a front picture?
Thank you Joe and David; I have a better idea now about what I am working with…

Yep… on page 1 of another Amtrash thread you posted on.
These mounts are screwed to the bottom of the shell’s frame. The trucks have tabs that protrude thru.
Is that what you’re looking for Bob??
