LGB #23192, Colorado & Southern #22, {LGB Chain to each side of

Please help. On the LGB #23192 Colorado & Southern #22, there is a brass chain that goes from the smokebox down to each side of the front
of the plate, that the plow is attached to. Smokebox will be painted silver, the plate is painted black. Should the chain be left as is, brass? Or painted silver or black?

Black. It’s likely that in actual service, the chain would not have been painted, but just whatever chain they had lying around the shop at the time they mounted the plow, which would have most likely been left to the elements and developed a nice dark brown rusty patina.
