On the LGB 20650 Santa Fe Alco, are the number boards at the front and rear usually illuminated?
There are sockets for bulbs in the circuits boards. But I don’t know whether they ever had bulbs fitted.
The same would be on all the earlier LGB 2055 and 2056 locos.
