Looking from the upper caps for both the sand and steam dome on a LGB2018 they are the same parts that are on the new 20282 coke engine, not available from TrainLi any other suggestions?
Do you have one to measure from? then you could measure and 3d print a reasonable facsimile.
Al P.
Al, no they are missing and I’m doing a repair for a friend and with out them the engine really isn’t worth repairing, figured with the coke engine # 28202 in production and using the same parts they would be easy to find but seems like everything is shut down, might have to wait till the “19” is over, Thanks, Bill
Bill,
My old 2018 is ready to provide a source of measurements if you need them.

Bill - I recently bought brand new LGB Mogul dome parts from www.Shop.Warenburg.de Germany. They’re only a few euros each.
Tom
Tom, thank you for the information, finally found the web site after removing the Germany from the URL but they don’t show any dome parts, I will check back in a week or two and see, Thanks again, Bill

Bill - I just checked their Website and they do have one of the two gold parts for the Mogul. Do you need just the gold units or do you also need the caps?

Bill - Here’s another suggestion for finding the domes for your LGB 2018D. There’s a guy on eBay that’s selling parts from a couple Moguls. One of these parts is the big lead weight from inside a Mogul’s boiler. Once you pull up that listing, you can send him an eBay message and ask if he has any of the domes you need. He’s over pricing the parts but sometimes we’re stuck using someone like that, but you can make him a lower offer. I just bought the front wire with supports that are on top of the cow catcher, same for the rear of the tender. He’s asking $30 each but accepted my $20 offer. Here’s the listing number for the lead weight…just enter it into the Search box:
eBay item number:
164185755654

Bill - That person just posted an LGB Mogul boiler on eBay…you can remove the domes from it but will have to paint them to the color you want. Tom
