Large Scale Central

Lettering/Decal Source

Happy New Year!!

It’s been awhile working on the railroad. I’m finally starting work on the Railpro install in my Bachmann 2-truck shay. Also have 3 more Railpro modules to replace the “out of business” RCS-America radio gear in my Connie and 3-truck shay. And then install in an LGB Porter I was given a few years ago.

As I sit here and revisit some old posts of members that have passed I realize I miss Stan Cedarleaf. He did such great work developing the logo for my railroad as well as the Disney lettering. Does anyone have a source for lettering/decal work that has the quality of Stan’s?

Thanks,
Richard

Matt of Circus City decals is a great option

Or Bill at PDC.

Both have great reputations in the modeling world.

Girlscout Sothern Rooster

Sorry I can’t help myself !

Thanks!! Both sites look great.

I don’t know if Shawmut is still doing decals or not.

He is but last I heard (October) there are issues with the printer producing banding (gaps) in the decals and Jeff doesn’t want to buy another.

Thanks for the sources. I may have enough lettering from the extra I purchased through Stan several years ago. Just want to have some options if I do run out.

Continuing the remembrances I am thinking about Tony Walsham. He is the one who started me out with converting track power to RC/Battery through TOC. I’ve since transferred those three early day modules into my son’s Thomas, James, and Percy engines. Tony was a great guy and a joy to work with. He always worked hard to make it right if there were issues.

2024 will be marking an end to my 32 years teaching high school choir and theater. I’m looking forward to a lot more time improving my Redwood Creek and Tallulah Ridge garden railroad with several expansion plans in the works. And of course getting to travel with my wife in our new travel trailer we’ve only used once since last April .

Have a marvelous ringing in the new year if you haven’t started yet.

Richard

you must be a dreamer.
most people waken sooner or later to the misterious fact, that once retired one has not more, but less time avayable for hobbies.

What?? But, but, but, I thought I would have all the time in the world?

Lots more time to procrastinate
