The problem is no one knows how many that is. I do know it is a very large number with lots and lots of zeros if it wasnât I wouldnât be typing this right now(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif). Speaking of which I have just moved and spread 8 tons of road base (3/4 minus) with the aforementioned shovel and single wheeled dump truck. Only 4 more tons to spread, hope it is enough and I donât have to go get more(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)
As they say have fun with your trains. (yea, the gravel is train related)

Joe I think we may have to give him a pass this time since he started this great thread. Sometimes itâs just too darn hard to pick when there are two words to chose from. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Really though, great thread Iâve really enjoyed seeing all the great contraptions and ideas. Good stuff.
No Randy,
I have given Joe full authority to correct me. While some consider it annoying to have people constantly correct their (or is it it there (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)) grammar, I am a budding author and someday aspire to publish at least one book. As a writer, I expect to be held accountable. Joe keeps me honest and makes me think about what I write. I get lazy and slip. But when I write I should write well. Joe is only holding me to a standard I have set for myself.
Devon, one should try and do things right when one can. But me, I tends to talk Ebonics. Its a hazard ah my job.

Great stuff John. I am jealous and now motivated to get my own MOW projects going.
John, How did you construct this retaining wall ?
are the boards and sleepers interlocked or just glued together ?
Thank you, Boomer. Now get busy!
MOW tool
Water tanker
Kitchen Diner
Trash gon
The Bossâs car
Tunnel clearance.
Way car
Nice pics from all on some really nice MOW cars(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
David, just screwed together with brass wood screws⌠I think the sleeps are 8" long, with some buried gussets to help keep it in place. Iâve tried shorter sleepers and they just work back out of the fill.
Totally missed this thread. Some really nice stuff posted. I only ever built one MOW piece. Itâs function was a track cleaner, but it was supposed to represent a free-lance wheel car. It was bashed from a Bachman TOFC and a New Bright box carâŚ
More nice stuff.
John B what would they use such a big Derrick for?
Daktah John,
Like that wheel car. Functions both as a real MOW and model MOW car

Pile driver?
Derrick OP was used for lifting stuff like heavy timbers. Maybe even re-railing cars. The boom could swivel.
Pile Driver OB was a self contained unit.
Derrick 016 was mostly a car rerailer. The prototype was used by the Soo Line. I thought it would be a neat narrow gauge model.
I like to play in the snowâŚSnow plowing video
This is my 1 to 20 scale snow plow with various steamers pushing and even my old LGB Forney makes an appearance.
Well I am away from home so cannot post correctlyâŚ
Thanks John. It makes more sense now that I know the Derrick swivels. I thought it was fixed.
