Let's resolve this liberal vs. conservative discussion

History 101

For those that don’t know about history…here is a condensed version:

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel.

The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:

  1. Liberals, and

  2. Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That’s how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement.

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the Conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q’s and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.

Some of these Liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy Liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that Conservatives provided.

Over the years Conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant.

Liberals are symbolized by the jackass.

Modern Liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard Liberal fare. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most of their women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are Liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn’t fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer, mostly Bud. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, members of the military, airline pilots and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other Conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the Liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America . They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.

Here ends today’s lesson in world history:

It should be noted that a Liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily respond to the above before forwarding it.

A Conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of this history that it will be forwarded immediately to other true believers and to more Liberals just to tick them off.

And there you have it. Let your next action reveal your true self.

David,
I have never personally insulted you as I thought, given enough exposure you would come around to realising that this site is more railroad-oriented, than your obvious political/racist soapbox biasses. I have decided that there is no redemption for you as railroading is the least of your hobby interests, so my resolve to not insult you has been terminated. You are a f…ing idiot (you can fill in the missing letters). I have had a gutfull of your crap!

Well, I guess you just did.

P.S. I have been posting some questions on RRing, but mostly reading since most of my basic questions seem to have been answered, and I have little to contribute yet.

The political, social discussions are ones I have chimed in on and was immediately insulted and attacked for expressing a view different than yours and some others. (I won’t mention any names but their initials are Tony, Terry, Hans and mike. Sorry if I missed anyone.)

Tim,

Just remember that as part of the creation along with dinos and incurable diseases the guy or girl upstairs gave us trolls…
I now choose not to feed them.

How is the weather over your side of Oz? It is quite tolerable here in Orange, though I don’t envy the guys in Victoria today.

David.

Might I refer you to my last posting on this thread:

"If you truly believe the Lassez Faire, Capitalist, Free Market system is so great, how come the World is in the current financial trouble it is?

Better yet, what would you suggest we do to solve the problem?"

Good question, but sorry, I don’t have the answer. Capitalism is a better system than communism. Liberty is better than slavery. Wouldn’t you agree?

Why? Are you gonna punch me in the nose if I don’t live by YOUR rules? Why not take your own advice. I posted a joke, you decided to jump in my stuff.

David, they can’t help themselves. I think it is a genetic disease.

Tony, the problem is we are not a capitalistic society anymore, it did work for years, then the libs got in the way trying to control and regulate everything, to much government control, and here we are.

What system do you propose works best, Tony?

No, sorry I can’t recall Mike O’Malley’s solution. Is he an economist or something?

Is America prosperous? Define “prosperous”. Our moral bank has been bankrupt for a few decades at least. Our country’s wealth in land, natural resources, infrastructure and productivity is pretty valuable.

David,

Let me put it this way - by far not as drastic as Tim’s - “You sure have a lot of room for improvement!” :stuck_out_tongue:

The ONLY financial system I can at the moment endorse would be a 100% pay-as-you-go system. A return to the gold standard, were currency has the value of the specie of which it’s made. Government that does not incur debt, a balanced budget, with only one set of books. Taxes are appropriation to the states by decennial census.

p.S. tony, I didn’t know you had such a high value on my coherent practical suggestions.

Geoff,

Quote: “Just remember that as part of the creation along with dinos and incurable diseases the guy or girl upstairs gave us trolls…

I have never responded to any of your postings previously, but thought that you might be interested in the meaning of the term you used. I do not recall the bible referring to the creation of 'trolls', but maybe your version makes reference. Troll as an 'internet' term has a very recent history (from the 1980's onwards) and was first recorded in 1991. Now unless god created the internet as well, then I daresay, that he left the word 'troll' to the use of man. Your very response fulfills the requirement of a 'trolling' posting, so by definition that would define you as a troll. I do not mind feeding trolls as they are easy game, like yourself.

Tony,

I looked, but was unable to find, what the writers used to determine what qualities made for a stable and prosperous country.

Was it per capita? Or GDP, or what? This sort of information will help.

I tend to agree with David about returning to the Gold Standard. Or, if not the Gold Standard, then how about the Wheat Standard, where a bushel is worth, say $5.00 US, or some similar sum. It doesn’t matter what commodity is used, just so the currency is tied to something of value, so that it is not “vapor-ware.”
