Critter Both using left over wheels from HLW mini-car kits, but different production runs led to different installations, the Inspection car wheels had to be bored out slightly to accomodate the thicker axle, where the critter had to have shims added since the axles were much thinner. I’m currently working out an idea to build more of these but with a simple one screw installation so I can just use the same motor block from model to model.

Mostly LGB. 'course, there wasn’t much else available unless you wanted to turn your own. I did try some plastic finescale wheels on one, and quickly learned why finescale wheels don’t play well in the garden.

Thanks Guys

Vic, I didn’t think of shimming…I have a few of those HLW wheels laying around…may give them a shim!

I’ve only done one. I used both the wheels and axles from a New Bright freight car. The wheels didn’t fit the Stomper axle, but I was able to get the gear pushed over the New Bright axle. I think I used some styrene shils on the outside of the motor box to keep the gear in the right position.
