Had about 6-8 inches already and still snowing heavy
The lookout tower is snowed in, hopefully no forest fires today
Signals are going to be tough to see
Kids are having fun while I shovel…

I see you are domiciled in Indiana Tom. I have looked, a few times since noon (UTC), at the Chesterton IN railcam. It has snowed continually there since their daybreak. The railroad tracks are still visible but that, I guess, is die to trains passing regularly. What amazed me was the amount of people and traffic moving just after 7 am - especially Sunday.
We had a prolonged warm spell (around the freezing point at night and warmer during the day) which got rid of plenty of the previous dump, but it started to look ugly. Today and the next two more snow coming.
That warm spell was just long enough for me to get the exit from Staging to the garden enlarged.
With 3 feet of snow on the ground, I now have a new underground Railroad!!
We ended up with 10.5 inches yesterday and over two feet on the ground. More snow on Thursday and maybe the weekend.
I don’t mind all the snow, I just hate that it is all FROZEN SOLID!!!
Streets are like ice rinks and I can actually walk on TOP of my layout this morning!
I want to move to So. Arizona

Take me with you. 13 inches this time on top of two feet.
For those that have visited the SJR&P the following photo is of the bridge over the pond and yes there is a trestle in there somewhere as well.

Yes
The snow shot is from a much wider angle.
Amazing how the railroad looks so much different during different times of the year.

I’m rather enjoying Oklahoma weather right now.
S. Az a week of 80 degree weather is the forecast!
I shoveled my share as a teen.

I cleared off my track yesterday and pulled the roof off the covered bridge to clean it out. I didn’t think we’d get much snow(wrong) so had not covered up the entrances. Now it snowed again, but back up to the 50-60 in the next day or two, so will wait it out. It’s like 15 outside, snowing with 25 mph winds. So I ain’t going out there!
Its 43 F with worn out snow, here in beautiful Deer Park. S’posed to get up into the 50’s, this weekend, then back to more seasonable temps, later.
We had a fresh fall Wednesday. Forecast to be a bit under an inch; recorded as about 1.5 inches – my shovel and I can tell you it was closer to six. Fortunately, light powder, and my excellent neighbour cleaned out the driveway with his blower this morning.
More coming tomorrow
Looking at the Chesterton IN webcam it seems that they had three separate fall of snow this week. Didn’t stop the taffic or the trains. The Cresson PA cam suggested two falls of snow - again no noticeable disruption.
It’s just about time to do another snow dance, this “Pineapple Express” weather is grotesque! (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-yell.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-yell.gif)
