That is a great idea, Bob. Thanks for sharing, I have quite a few of those rolls. I wonder if anybody would give a second look at green, red, pink, yellow, etc concrete blocks 
That’s what gray paint is for! 
Yea, these are great, they use about a gram of filament, slightly less than half a meter. I have a bunch of short spools with just a handful of winds on them.
The question is what mortar to use for NE coast outdoor modeling on an prototypical scale that is prototypically correct?
