Painted it today, still have a lot to go, but lighting might change some decisions

Right now you can get the LED x-mas lights @ deep discounts, Most everywere. a String of 35 would light it up nicely and they would be 110V so you need to “Just Plug and Play”

I got one of those strings of Christmas LEDs at Wallgreens for $2.50.

There are fifteen foot long led strips here

they can be cut to length in groups of 3 if you want. 12 volts

Bill, I saw those, but how do you connect them?

I might try Walgreens

Tom

there are copper tabs on the end of the strip

you have to solder wires to them

they are marked for + and- twelve volts dc

I like the LED Christmas light idea. Cheep and easy to use. Wally Mart in our area was selling them for $2.50 (35 light strand). They can be cut down if need be. Just pay attention to the wire configuration. I use them in a number of my buildings that are standing together. You can place wire extensions between lights to fit building distances. Works for me.

They are cheap, but the LED strips have much more even lighting and diffusion.

So, you get what you pay for, but the LED strips are so much better and still cheap.

Those LED flexi strips can be bought ex Hong Kong or China (EBAY) for less than $10 post paid for a 15 foot reel and that length contains 300 lights in sections of 3. Bargain…and very easy to set up as they are self sticking BUT, make sure you buy the 5050 WATERPROOF type which is brighter than the other types advertised…Plugs and sockets are available for this strip lighting but you have to look around…altho’ it is very easy to solder a couple of wires to it…just make sure you have the right polarity noted as some of these markings are VERY small.
IF a whole reel is lighted then a 12v/5amp power source is available with some dealers.

When these arrive, leave them in a nice airy place as the stuff they use to waterproof the lights is quite evil smelling…but…it slowly goes.
