Latest Narrow Gauge Ops on the IPP&W/RP&M 2016 OVGRS

Another great year of Ops is coming to an end. What a great part of the hobby.

Shawn, we did not get your way because of spending so much time at Finger lakes Live Steamers. It just causes us to travel a different route.

We did attend M. Brown’s “Steamup” on Friday. We had never been to that part of the New York and wanted to see more. The Hanford Mills was well worth the time.

All operations on the IPP&W are terminated for the year. We are looking forward to 2017, when we plan on starting operations around the 24th of May.

In the mean time, have a great Winter, where-ever you happen to be.

Have a nice hibernation, Fred. See ya in the spring when you wake back up…

Stay warm and cozy, Fr. Fred. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

Bruce…in reviewing past posts, I stumbled upon this last post you made back in November 2016.

Here we are, now, in October of 2017, and having just enjoyed a GREAT Saturday morning operation; I was drawn to your picture of an “Unshaven”, and rather furry “Fr.Fred”, looking almost ready for Winter…!!

Well, the weather yesterday was not “Hot”, and started out on the Chilly side, we did have our 20th operation of 2017, and seem to be ready for at least two more, before shutting down for the year.

I haven’t “Furred up” yet, and don’t plan on letting my face fuzz grow just yet… the forecasts seem to be for at least two more weeks of pleasingly warm weather, so, who knows, we might even get towards the end of October before closing down this year.

I guess 2017 will turn out to be another year of well over 20 operations, and one heck of a lot of great enjoyment, fun and friendship…

Stay tuned…Steve McKenzie will publish Mike’s Blogs, right up to the end…!!

Not quite time to shutdown, but I know it is getting close. Extremely disappointed in my body and the Doctors to not let me travel at the time of the Invasion. Another time and another year and we will get this all to happen again. Hibernation is just a state of mind. And it really is just mind over matter and if you don’t mind, it don’t matter. All the best, Fred.

No, no no Gracie. It’s Mind over Matter - I don’t mind and you don’t matter (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)

That’s what my football coach said.

I do believe George said it first. Anyone who doesn’t get my references is too young to have known truly great comedy.

Say goodnight, Gracie.

GOD, I do love this Forum. And thank you Bob for providing this platform for such nonsense.

I remember George and Gracie, Jon;, also The Mortons and Harry Von Zell.

And.Rick, your right on the money there.

I’m old enough to remember George and Gracie on radio. George probably did say it first, but that doesn’t negate the fact that, in the middle of 500 bends and thrusts, my football coach did bless us with the comment. That he may have been quoting George did not make us feel any better about our situation.

And that’s why I miss the other PBS station we had in Pittsburgh. When I was a teenager, I could put a coat hanger in the back of the TV and get WQEX, channel 16. They ran all them good shows. And even though it was in the mid 1980’s, that station only had a black and white transmitter. So even the few colour programs they broadcast were in black and white.

Then they “merged” with WQED channel 13, got a colour transmitter, and forgot about all the good stuff they aired, becoming WQED lite… (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)
