Here is a night shot of the little farm house I put 3 led’s into. Front porch light, a little lamp to the right in the window with a shade over the bulb (sorry for the pic quality) and there is a rear porch light, not shown, and in the foreground is a 37 chevy with front headlights and a tailight. Regal
Cool. I really like the vehicle lights.
Thanks Ray, I just recently learned about led’s and resistors from Noel Wilson, and Greg Elmassian, they were very instrumental in everything I’ve done electrically and with led’s and my trains over the last couple of years. I have learned lots from their gracious help they have given me. Learn something new everyday!! Regal
Here’s a different take on the station lighting, I installed 4 warm whites yesterday in the station with the bright whites one in the window and two on the street light out front, combined with bright white on the pickup headlights and tail light I thought was a pleasant combination??? What you tink??? Regal

Very nice. Good color…
Looks good Jerry,
Whens the next show ?
Nick
Looking good Jerry… Happy New Year to all.
Not sure Nick ask the old guy below yer post Hah LOL Regal
I do a lot with LEDs too. Nice work on the truck. How did you do that? I’ve got about two dozen trucks and cars that would really look nice with operating lights. Is that street lamp a metal tube?
As far as the truck, I used 3 led’s in series, with a 9 volt transistor type battery, It was a 100 ohm resistor, and a 270 using the led calculator, the hardest part on the pickup was the headlights as this was a smaller scale truck (none are easy!) I used a teeny drill to pop out the head light bezel, on both and drilled out the taillight hole with the proper size for a 5mm led, 3mm would work better but I only had 5mm’s. Just hook em up the way the calculator (link below) shows and then put a slide switch wherever is easiest for the project and a battery clip, and hook up your 9 volt. Not easy but not that hard. Hardest part is drilling out your headlights so the led will fit in it without destroying the headlight housing, I would use 3mm leds and I did use 22 guage stranded wire something smaller may be easier. I’m learning as I go too on each project. If you like bright like I have use bright white, some of my mentor’s have suggested warm white its whatever you like the look of. If I can be of any further help let me know. On my little farmhouse I used 3 leds, and the train station has 4 batteries one for the street light, 1 for the 4 warm white led’s, one for the two lamps in fixtures on the inside, and one for the two outside lights over each door. 4 switches Regal
LED street lights http://www.topledsupplier.com/LED-Street-Light_270.html are environmentally friendly, reduce costs and save energy. They produce a directional, high level of light which creates visibility without glare. There are no specific standards for measuring, testing or applying LED lights.
Here is another view of the station, I finally purchased some titanium bits, that would go through whatever kind of metal on these cabinet knobs I purchased at Home Depot, they look better than the one on the left (the original ones), so now to purchase another one, and drill it out. Whatever they used to lock the base (kind of antique metal) looked good, but came off after I was able to drill into the crystal part for light distribution. Came out pretty good What you tink??? Here is a short video of my latest project in led’s. A 2010 Camaro Highway Patrol car. Now it has working light bar, and two small lights in rear window red/blue. Eventually when I get done, it will have headlights, park lights, map/computer light, light bar, rear window lights, and tailights that will flash, strobe, and chase or all 3 in sequence. Quite an interesting project I happened onto. Every town need a couple patrolman, to keep the peace right??? Regal

Here is stage 2 of Police Camaro lighting, added headlights, park lights, and tail lights. Not happy with tail lights, will be doing something different there shortly. Regal

Guys spent the last couple of days finishing up this 2010 Camaro Police Interceptor. This is the final version of it with all the red/white/blue led’s installed. Down the road I will put a special circuit into it that will allow it to do several different sequences, strobe, flash, chase, and a combo of all 3 sequences, when I am able to do this I will post another video of it completed, for now this was a simpler version, and myself I like this too. I am acquiring another type vehicle to do this to also. More video to follow. Regal

Here’s stage 1 of my newest build on a Police Hummer vehicle. Watch for updates to this one, also included in video is somewhat finished 2010 Camaro. Regal
Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks
I’d say you’re having a lot of fun with this.
Are you going to give MARS lights a try on your locomotives ?
Ralph
Not sure Ralph, we meaning myself and Howard M. are experimenting with these patrol cars. Showed my friend from my home town what I did and he is now fully involved in doing several cars, buildings, etc himself. The above videos are not what I started out to do, and that is in the works down the road once we perfect the circuit boards we are getting here shortly. Once those are installed, the lights will flash, strobe, chase and do all three sequences together, I hope. This is for me purely experimental, I know Howard will come up with his and it will be spot on, due to his electronics knowledge, I’m still in the infancy stage of dis go here dis go there you know the Disco mode!! Hah LOL Regal
Here’s stage 2 of hummer lighting, and followed by a night view of both Hummer and Camaro
