Large Scale Central

Last runs and abandonment

Hi guys,
Yesterday was the end. I ran a couple of trains and then demo began.

Very beautiful! And the low camera angles make it look like it’s literally a real photo. Shame to see it gone, though I assume you’ll be starting a new one? Either way, great work

I agree with Max. What a shame it is coming down. Will you be rebuilding?

Sad to see this go, but excited for your new location. Hopefully we will see trains against those beautiful mountains before too long! I know exactly how this feels. My RR is partly sold off and the balance packed up. The packing part took nearly a month!

As far as my simple feeble mind goes I must say that Matt’s natural revolving background has got to be at the top for the all time “Greatest Model Trains Outdoors” backdrop. Good luck with the new venture and keep us posted on the new layout as time allows.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Yes, I intend to re-build. I may have to study things a bit first as a large (300+) herd of elk hangs out during the winter in our new neighborhood. My track is deer-proof, but elk are another matter entirely.

The whole railroad fit in the back of an old Ford Ranger:
