Last day of the NNGC at the WWF & Eric's Place

We spent our last day at the convention with what I feel were the grand finale events of the week. The WW&F is really a Jewel up here, the people there are incredibly pleasant and invite the fans to be hands on, participate and see everything. We spent the morning there and caught the first train in an effort to beat some of the rush. The back shops which were open to tour were just a complete playground of locomotive parts and building equipment. The museum is also fantastic so plan extra time for that. Here are two of the videos I took while there. First some stack Talk:

Now after that rousing cadence, here is a nice soothing piece of switching…

So if the morning wasn’t good enough, after some delicious lunch in Wiscasset, we drove down to Eric Schade’s place to see his sweet layout. It’s perfectly nestled into the edge of the beautiful pine forest that rings his property. There were lots of people there, I would guess at least 60 with a steady flow coming and going for the 2 hours we were there.

The Engine house is in the lower loop.

Lots of rock make for a picturesque scene with cuts and trestles along the front edge.

The enormity of 7/8ths is amazing. Here is my 40 inch tall son sitting beneath the huge covered bridge.

I thought this was a beautiful model, then I came through later and saw one of the neighbors showing off the fact that it is a fully functional R/C Live Steam model !!!

The church in this Photo is an exact model of one just minuets away.

Its was quite an afternoon with several Live steam trains running at a time all afternoon. Eric was a great host and quite busy not only today but all week giving clinics at the convention, Helping out at the WW&F, and getting ready for this fantastic open house. He is to be commended for all his effort. Thanks Eric!

Lastly, I did feel a strange presence around this whole week…

Sadly Gary, it was closed. So we will never know.

Hey Rooze, When you’re good, you’re good. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

I wanted to get a snapshot of that sign. So glad it was posted.

Rooster, we are always thinking of you. Many times right around the time we are starting to get hungry. Yes, you were the subject of conversation every time we passed that sign. It was right outside the doors of the Convention Hall.

I guess its just your magnetic personality.
