I thought 16 feet was kind of a short run distance though.
That is a very nice locomotive. And at $58 bucks is a pretty reasonable price for a unique gift for a train enthusiast.

FINALLY… It Got here today… Part of me want’s to rip it open and dig in. But it will have to wait a couple of weeks, Way to much train stuff on the table already.
This started out as a “Kickstarter” program. UGears had wanted to raise initially $20,000 to get things up and running. Well the Loco was a hit… All together they raised over $400,000 in money to expand and gear up bigger production capabilities. Well the extra success created a bit of a problem in that they had to ramp up production 20 times more then expected. This caused about an extra month in delivery delays.
Well packaged, Professionaly done. First impression was how heavy the box was. And how fine the laser cutting was and how clean the parts look.
And the spec. sheet. The unknown answer is… 1/32 scale. I do think that the Gage will then be 45mm. This is after all an “European” style loco. Don’T know if it will run on standard track or not.
Something in the back of my mind has me thinking how cool this would be to motorize with a battery in the tender, if it fit 45mm gage. It is rubber band powered, so fit a small R/C controlled motor to keep the rubber band wound. The rubber band would work as it’s own clutch and torque converter.
The 443 parts do seem a little daunting thou. If there is interest here, I’ll report the build progress.
