Large Scale Central

Large scale train display at the 2011 Dutchess County Fair, H.V

Hi Guys,

Here’s a video I finally had time to edit and post on YouTube from our Display back in August. Narrow gauge and standard gauge trains running for 4 days. we had to pack up early as we had a earth quake and a hurricane come thru that week.

Enjoy

Nice Nick!

Now I understand what you said about the tracks being too accessible to kid’s!

How many times did kids grab the trains?

Greg

Nick great looking layout. Wish I new about it I would have taken a ride up. I hope to see you Sunday in Kingston. I plan on getting their for 10am. Ill try to were my adidas blue cap.

That is a nice display but you are right that it was too close for public access.

I seen at least one kid with hands inside the display on the video!!!

Why not use some plexi-glass about 24" high. It is tall enough to discourage kids from reaching in and is still low enough for operators to take care of business. It would probably solid up the posts too, looks like I saw a few leaning in from no doubt people leaning on them.

We think it came out cool looking, But will ajust next years track plan to avoid some issues.

Shawn,

Look forward to meeting you, and I’m glad your getting there early, As there are other Train related things
to do in the area that day as well. Check out the show thread I updated it a little.

Jake we were thinking about that, but just cost too much $ to do it with Plexi and keep it safe.

Nicky! Nicely done. Hope you’re feeling better, too.

Feeling good Mik, Thanks for the thoughts. The Display we think is one of our best yet.

But we have other things planned soon, that should be as cool and better.
