Large Scale Central

Large Scale Central's Aniversery Friday June 29th

Anyone want to party on Friday evening ?

Bob, what aniversary is this ? 7th, 8th, or less ?

Will the chat room be repainted by then, and the sawdust on the floor changed ?
Can we get Terry to stock the fridge with a few bheers along with his Rhoot bheer ?
Will Bart wash the windows ?

Philbert, wherever you are; could you give us a lecture on the pleasing effects of Kangaroo piss on the roses, or some sort of educational topic ?

Tony; are you really upside down, or is that a myth ?

Friday evening could be less than a bore with these few questions being answered.....

I hope to be here; no, not to scare people off; but to join in the fun.

Er, 7th…started Jun 29, 2000.

I, unfortunately, will not be around for the celebration. I’m hiking Mt Washington in NH this weekend, as I try and do every year around my birthday. First climbed it on my 8th…

I climbed Mt. Washington a couple times as a teen. But today you would have to lay me on my side and roll me up…:frowning:

And I guess that makes TODAY as the date of The Great Schism…or as I prefer the De Keles Finger Gesture Day…when we were all given the fickle finger without warning by logging on to Brand X and seeing a goofy image of some cartoony folks riding a train into the setting sun…ahhh the memories…

Ahhh, like Phoenix rising from them ashes - who'd a thunk all this was created by such a jester during the millineum. And now anyone could shut down a site and it would hardly be a belch. Tis the way the world works, repetitive backups, duplication and safeguards. Yes, we were fooled once, but never again. Actually, I guess we should be thankful for that gesture, because it caused us to realise what this communication means to many of us. I know it keeps me focused on the hobby.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, all.

Let’s see Bob, you first climbed Mt. Washington when you were 8. And now you are 12!
Happy Birthday!

Bob
Congrats on 8 fine trouble free years.
I’d love to see you come climb Mt Golden here in Sept. We do have rope.
Happy B-day

Nah he's probably twentynine and holding, since you can't trust anyone over thirty.

Bob, have a good one and take it easy on the way down!

Happy Birthday, Bob.

Enjoy your trip up the mountain One thing that I have found to be helpful is to count my birthdays on the Celcius Scale, instead of the Fahrenheit Scale. It makes the advancing years a bit more palatable. :stuck_out_tongue:   The formula is something like this…
C = 5/(F-32) This makes me 15.5, plus a couple of days for seasoning. Not bad.

I visit some of the other sites from time to time, but this is my home.

Bob,

After you get to the top are you going to ride 1 of “Devils Shingles” down??

Is everyoner recovering after the celebration?

Aah oooohh errrhh ... what was in that alky-hol fuel, anyway? Blew off the pop valves and darn near had a crown sheet meltdown.

That good…eh!

Bob must still be recovering from Mt. Washington!

Bob had to issue a "DING" already, looks like someone just doesn't get the message!

BTW I missed the Anniversary celebration on account of some doozy thunderstorms on Friday! At one time I actually shut down the 'puter, the power went off, came back on. Then was at about 95V instead of 120; was time to shut her down, turn off the lights and watch the show outside.

Did it RAIN!!!

Got to about 4500 feet, above tree line, and nasty weather moved in. We were just about up to the heavy clouds, and a group coming off the west shoulder below Mt Clay had all their foul weather gear on, and were quite wet. With about 2 more miles to go and 1500+ more feet of altitude, exposed to the wind (about 60mph right now), and 40 degrees and falling, we decided discretion being the better part of valor, called it a day. The mountain isn’t going anywhere soon.

40 degrees! It’s over 100 abd getting hotter! You made a good run (walk) at uit anyway!
