Large Scale Central CHAT

Bill,

  1. chat tends to fill the vacuum, so don’t feel you are interrupting

  2. often there may be 2 “trains of thought” going, and people can respond to one or the other.

  3. remember that there’s a little gadget on the screen that says “scroll back” or something, and you can see the last 20 or 50 messages so you can see what people were talking about.

  4. Don’t worry about speling or gud words, it’s the thought that counts, and it’s not a contest, some people type faster than others.

  5. if I remember, posting pictures are copy and paste, but ask on the chat, I agree pictures are fun… rooster does it all the time.

Regards, Greg

OK, guys, I have read those posts and I will drop by again and say “Howdy.” I didn’t mention it in my previous post but unfamiliarity with the chat software also has deterred me and I often haven’t known how to do the basics. I realize that if I chat more, I will learn the software. I guess I never chatted enough to get comfortable with it.

As far as typos, I’ll try not to fret over them so much, but I do need to proofread. I have an uncanny ability to use the wrong words and enter something easily misunderstood.

One thing that will limit what I have to say is that I have gotten rid of all my train stuff. We will be moving to a condo soon and there just isn’t any place for RR things.

Ok now i know the rest of the story. Was wondering why you sold off everything. Later RJD

Paul Harvey is dead man

He may be “Dead”, but there are many of us that are still very much alive, and chatting regularly on the chat. As far as spelling mistakes…there is spellcheck, and the willingness to TRY to spell correctly. I’m willing to try to aid anyone in learning to spell correctly, even though I do make many spelling mistakes myself.

Limited experience; My advanced hunt and peck keeps my eyes on the keyboard so it seemed I was 3 thoughts behind, when I caught up everybody had signed off.

I’ll leave it youse guys… please enjoy the heck out of it. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Heck, I “Hunt & Peck” too, and seem to get by using only one finger…never did learn to type properly…but surprisingly I seem to have slowly found most of the keys. I find that I find the keys, faster, the more I use it…

Fred,

I’m not worthy…

(Tho’ right handed, I’m faster with only the left hand…)

John

John; “Worthy” or not; please feel very welcome, when-ever you care to drop into the chat room. There is always a bheer, whine, or soft drink in the refrigerator for you…and don’t worry about keeping up with the chatter…I’m usually at least 15 minutes behind most of the chatters, and that’s mentally; in hunting and pecking…I often am slower with that !!!

Went on Chat tonight and course no one was there. Room was dark and no lights left on. Least the door was unlocked… …lol. Well… went back on last 20 chat posted and found this…

Would not of seen them if David R. hadn’t post them in chat.

"Thro’s Amtrak photo’s sure look nice there. David R. " Paps.

Guess need to find out a time schud. for us west coasters in the evening or maybe what day. lol.

Most of the time when I have gone to the Do-Drop-In, either no one is there or they are leaving. I wish we could at least try a chat night. It may not work, but at least a trying a scheduled night might give people something to work toward.

Officially, when the LSC Chatroom, took over from some other place, that a lot of the “Gang” came from; Thursday evenings, were “Chat Nights” Why not just declare Thursday as chat night and start showing up. West Coasters can come online at any time they care to, and chat with fellow West Coasters…and if one or a few of the East Coasters, sticks around…so much the better, for spreading the shit…er I mean ideas and knowledge…maybe even friendship…The Chat Room is here, 24 hours a day…use it when it is best for you…Call Thursday Night “Chat Night” and spread the word to all your friends…

Please stock the fridge with bheer, whine and pop occasionally…we East Coasters do try to keep it full, using whoever’s credit card is left on the bar… Enjoy…I’ll try to drop in and buy a round, on Thursday nights…
