Large Scale AC6000?

In my dreams as the old saying goes. I must confess, that when I was doing “0” scale, I had a Lionel AC6000 done in Chessie livery. Besides having a killer sound system, this engine was simply stunning. I really hated parting with her, but felt the near $500 dollars I made would benefit my G scale dreams.

Anyway, if one asked me for a dream engine. It would be an AC6000 with a complete digital sound system.
I think the BNSF or Canadian National livery would look just about right, but I would not mind that Chessie livery in large scale. I mean, talk about impressive, but it is only a dream…LOL

I’ll take three!
Maybe they’ll make one?
I have been looking at making my own. Looks like I might take some MTH shells and modify or start from scratch. I haven’t decided yet. It takes me years to make one with my issues. I’d rather buy one too.

I’ll second that Joe. The thought of a lash up of three AC6000’s done in BNSF livery just sends chills down my backside. All that power and those beautiful inter M cars in tow. Yea, scratch building is a tough deal if one has any issues. Still, it is a challenge and who knows, maybe you will do it and a company will mass produce them off what you scratched built.

BTW, Stretching a standard Dash 9 is a challenge alright. Much longer hood and all those fans. I am guessing now, just guessing that a mass produced AC6000 with all the modern electronics and stuff would retail for around $600 plus. With a full weight set and digital sound system, these loco’s would likely be worth $1200 or more each, but hey, its only money and railroading to me…is worth all the money I can spend on it.

PS: I’ll take your three and raise you 2…LOL

Stacy, that red flag in the “UPDATES” button at the top of your page means that “You have mail.”

Hello Steve. I looked and I don’t see that flag. I am new to this site so please forgive my ignorance as I am trying to figure out what is what. Thanks
