Labor Day Weekend 2006

The unofficial “End of Summer” in our part of the World. There will be two more months of sailboat racing, but the nights are getting cooler and football and life returns to somewhat normality. We have beautiful weather. Forecast was rain and they couldn’t have missed it any further, so far. 81 degrees at 5 pm and very comfortable low humidity. Most people seem to be in a good frame of mind and enjoying the last rights of Summer. Where ever you guys are, I hope you have the time to enjoy the days and blow the whistle one long blast for our friendships and the hobby we enjoy. Grandkids went home today, and we are played out.

Ric, you are lucky guy. Here on the Elbow of Old Cape Cod it has been pouring almost all day with temp’s around 60 to 65 degrees. We also have a HIGH surf alert so the boat stay’s on the mooring.
Happy Railroading
&
Happy Boating,
Ron

Hi guys,

We have beautiful sunny weather in the Okanagan, 87ºF (31ºC). If those guys down in WA would stop smoking (not you, Dave   ), we’d like it even better.

Rain for most of the last 24 hours in Ottawa 8-(
Put a stop to my deck-building labours.
Forecast for Monday is slightly better.

Almost the same thing here in Detroit, Ric. Weatherman predicted cloudy skies chance of rain, turned out to be sunny & nice, got to do some work outside on the railroad. Unfortunately, Labor Day more or less marks the end of summer and as for me, I didn’t get 20% of the railfanning in that I had planned on but did get most of the work that $$$$ allowed for on the backyard railroad. Like the weather Fall usually brings EXCEPT for the falling leaves! Hoping we all can enjoy a nice Indian Summer.

Spring has sprung. The grass has riz.
I even know where the boidies is.

Another nice day here in downtown Boronia.

Tomorrow I am off to Northern climes for a week.
Drop off my leathergoods making buddy Charles for his Gosford craft show, and then hightail it another 700 km North to see my 1 yo grandson Monty.

Enjoy your weather. Catch y’all in a week or so.

Drove through the western edge of Earnesto in VA and NC on my way to Florida thur nite and fri. Wife said we got a bit of wind here but very little rain. Sun looks like it tryin to make an appearance today. Typical Sept weather…

Unseasonably cool here lately. Had a very nice afternoon sailing by RC boat yesterday. Rainy today. Pining for a chance to run trains :frowning:

What we need here so despirately that would cut down on all the fires is…RAIN! All we’ve had this summer is hot and dry. But then again it rained for 3 months straight this spring…:frowning:

Warren,

Have you tried Rain Dancing?

Same up the valley, not enough rain this summer. OTOH at least we didn’t need to bitch about the incessant rain like others did.

Thursday September 7th…FULL MOON TONIGHT…I’ll be doing my regular Full moon, Nude Sundance at Midnight…this will gaurantee at least 4 full days of sunshine within the next two weeks.

Fred,

You mean there will be plenty of water in the Rideau Canal??

Yes, Hans,

The Canadian Forces base; “DisneyLand on The Rideau”, still is on water…the canal has lots of water…

The Government is seeking UN recognition of the Rideau Canal as a "World Heritage site........."

 ......not the forces headquarters.......!!!!
