The weather and the early days of the first weeekend of the month of May has caused this OPs Session to sort of sneak up on us. The Kaskaskia Valley Railway will hold its Spring Ops Session on May 2 and 3. It all begins around Noon each day and ends when we can’t or don’t want to run trains anymore. Most of the layout is battery operated, but there are some track powered areas. Normal coupling is Kadee’s, but someone always brings other stuff and we get by. If you don’t have equipment, it can be provided. All are welcome. For more information you can contact me by email - [email protected]
Your OPS session always seems to be a nice season opener. The Chicago Botanic opens the next weekend.
I am working on being there.
Hope to have the new Loco ready to go.
All I need now is a NEWBE hat and I will be ready.
Now that you mention a ““Newbe”” hat… hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Unfortunately having major eye surgery on the 23rd and concurrent recouperation period is gonna prevent me from making it this year! Sigh…perhaps November…
I wish I could be there, but…all I can do is be there in spirit…Have a great get-together…
I surely wish I could be there too Ric.
Unfortunately this year is once again not possible.
Maybe in 2010.
Me too, Fred.
600 miles and 9 1/2 hours…just too much for me to undertake right now.
I’m still kicking myself in the a** for not biting the bullet and making the trip to York.
Meeting Ken in Spencer sure took a bit of the sting out of missing York.
Ralph
Me too. The mouse sucked up all my sky miles and extra vacation time. There’s always next year.
ok folks… Who all is going to show up? I am there with the Children once more I can’t wait! Pray for nice weather. And pray for Bart’s eyeballs too!
Doesn’t look like I can make it. Too much going on this time of year, but we’ll see. Besides, my navigator isn’t able to make it either…
you will be missed…
Rolling stock is being washed daily. We are as ready as we are going to get. Pre-ops begins tomorrow evening.
Underway about noon Saturday. I’ve already had a ball just pre-staging cars and checking locations. Got the grass cut yesterday and with the rain we have been having, that says quite a bit.
All are welcome, we’ll even feed you.
If you cut the grass yesterday, then, with all the rain and the temp’s of 70, your gonna need to cut it again, friday…
walking in the grass, walking in da grass
Look for me Saturday AM
WARNING! I will be in after noon, going to wait until I can get rid of the kids this time. I am so excited and look forward to this every time. Thank you Ric and Jan for hosting the most anticipated events of the year for us! Your hospitality is 2nd to none.
Almost time to leave!
