Thank you
They were reasonably nice looking, not highly detailed, but do have some value. Several people have them here on the forum.
See this thread on a different forum: http://forums.mylargescale.com/15-model-making/46946-great-trains-f7a-b-restored.html
The guy that started this thread is probably the most knowledgeable on these.

Jerry,
I think Tim is looking for some guidance - are they worth anything? What did the last one sell for?
They look nice, so I would be sure they are worth something.
Have you tried to run them?
No sir, I know nothing about trains
Then I would suggest you get a few offers if you are looking to sell them. It would be a shame if you let yourself get taken.
Tim, Sell them only as an entire set. Do not be taken selling one at a time, and find someone with knowledge of the brand before dealing
Tim, You show 8 cars and a loco in the picture. I’m no expert on Great Trains however from what I know about them you have a rather rare and unique set. I would not split them up AT ALL. I’m personally thinking that set is worth at least $1000 to the right buyer and probably a lot more.
Good advice, thank you all. I’m thinking if I can’t sell them as a set I would build a shelf about a foot from the ceiling and line the room with them. I think that would look cool.
Wow, they are beautiful… do I see a baggage? What is the consist: dome etc.
I’m sorry I reply don’t know the cars one is marked sleeper, theater, sleeping car, baggage and dome/observation. I don’t know what the rest are.
If you sell seperately I would be interested in the F-7 and baggage, RPO if one and SLEEPER.
Tim, should you decide to be more formal in your attempt to sell the set, contact Robby at RLD Hobbies. I believe he does consignment selling and he will treat you right. A very upstanding person.
yes, i would second that.
without any knowledge, you are best off with some help. - and Robby of RLD is known to be a fair and honest person.
