KMRR in the news

A few weeks ago my local newspaper did an article on my RR. It was fun to do and maybe it will get a few more people into GR.

Congrats Shawn, great article.

Shawn,

Great article and a wonderful RR!

Shawn, nice piece… No matter what Rooster says, you done good…

Hey Shawn, nice article! Don’t know if it really does it justice after seeing it in person. Great job!

That was well-written by that reporter, too. Makes it easy for non-railroader readers to get the whole jist.

Well done, Shawn.

I didn’t realize your pike was out front. Wow! I’ve often thought I’d like to put a little track in my small frontyard too, but I’m almost certain that in this neighbourhood it’d be inviting trouble. It’d get vandalized or stolen or something, so I haven’t dared. I love to promote the hobby in other ways as much as I can, and am happy to get kids operating my stuff, etc., but that particular angle definitely wouldn’t work for me. I wish…

Glad you can do it, though! You’re doing great things down there in Wantage, buddy!

Way to go Shawn, always good to see the Tin Kitty and the hobby getting good press.

John, I think Shawn’s house is in a bit more rural setting than you or I. So having a front yard layout isn’t as big a risk as it would be for us, in my neighborhood the track would vanish as soon as it was down by the scrap dealers, if its metal we never have to call for junk pickup, just put it on the curb and the scrap dealers will take it away.

Congrats, Shawn!

Here in the People’s Republic of Kalifornia I’d probably end up with someone from the city hassling me for not filing an environmental impact report, or having an unlicensed amusement, or some other nonsense.

Nice article Shawn. Made for a good read.

Thanks guys. It was fun to do. The article was written very well.

John my front yard is more secluded then most peoples back yards Lol. People dont even realise there is RR in my front yard. Its funny the guy that cleans my wood stove every season has been doing it for 8 years now. This year was the first year he noticed the RR. In order to get to my door he has to walk past the layout. I guess I did a good job at keeping the track etc… camoflauged.
Ray rules, what are rules Ha ha. The town doesnt even about my leanto in my woods.

Cool
Ralph

Way to go Shawn!!! Can us little people still talk to you now that you’re famous? LOL

Nice article. I’m really surprised at how much depth they went into. Very refreshing rather than the usual 5 second treatment.

Shawn,

I wish I could go look at your blog (as the link is in all your posts), but, alas, I have not been ‘invited’, and it won’t let me view it. :frowning:

Nice!

Very nice and well written article. A good read and it should get some interest going for model trains in your beautiful area of logging country.

Tom

Wow, Garden Railways, a news article. What’s next the 10 0’clock news or maybe a reality show, or sitcom?

Good work!
