I wondered if anyone here had any experience in kit-bashing a Hartland Mighty Mack ?
They seem quite good and very affordable...
Thanks for your advices

Hello
Sure you can kit bash anything.
Mine isn’t really bashed but I did add racing stripes, side pipes and a roll bar to reflect my other interest a 65 Cobra as seen in this photo.

That is a tank of high octane fuel towed behind it. The Cobra/mack was on its way to the races.
Here is a video link to all the racing fun and the answer to “can a train spin out?”

Enjoy
Todd, Great video. I’m surprised it stayed on the track that long. Did you super charge the moter?
Vic is the expert with bashing the Mack engines. They are great little engines to mess with. They even make the hobby affordable for people.
Christian is you go to my web page gallery you will see three of several I have done
Mike

LOTS of potential with these
Thanks for your answers.
A lot of great photos and a few tons of idea !
HA No turbo but it did have 20 plus volts going to it in that video. I like at the end when it skids sideways.
Wow Vic you do bash those MacKs up My favorites is the boxcab and the beat to heck #50.
Did you enter the recent Hartland photo contest with any of those?
You certainly do have lots of ideas Christian now the next step is to build one then Post photos for us.

The Mack bricks are great starting points for lots of projects.
I modified a Holgate wooden Mr Rogers trolley to fit on one years ago… the kids loved it.
I found a Hartland Mighty Mack for $74.00 (in Europe) and I’m working hard on it.
Are you located in Europe Christian? The reason I ask is that a Mack is about $74 brand new in America. You can usually find them in many colours on Ebay. Occasionally you can find used ones cheaper.
I live in France. My retailer in Germany sells this loco in many colours. In fact, the colour is not very important. Whatever is going on, at the end of the work (or maybe the newbie massacre) the new colour could be a little bit different…

No I missed it.
Mission aborted!
My personal Prime Minister said: “keep the money for the food and the house! Don’t ever think to buy a toy like this one. It’s an order…”
My wife used that argument on me, I just started buying motorcycle magazines and leaving them lying around the house. Today I have a dozen Mack bashes, but no motorcycle.
You know, Prime Ministers are elected… they can be recalled & voted out in the next election.
Not this one…
Geee some peoples priorities!
Yea, some people think food, houses and bath towels take precedence over trains…sheesh, what are they thinkin…
