Chances that there are many of these in the congregation are slim, however … there have/had been a few mentions of quality problems with the second series of the RhB Ge 6/6" engines from KISS. The products concerned are the less expensive items which have injection moulded bodies and the chassis and motor blocks are zinc castings i.e. they are not the high-end brass equivalents that KISS has also produced !!
Problem #1: the paint on the frame of the engines and the motor blocks is peeling off.

…
Problem #2: Of much greater concern is the damage on the frame casting.

Those familiar with zinc casting will go “ah-ha”; as I did once I had vaccumed the messy paint out of the way.
Naturally getting that kind of a surprise was not what the doctor ordered.
Mention this just in case there are others among the 3615 forum members who have one of the kind. BTW you’re not in luck if you’re a collector and the engine is safely stored away. My engine has been in storage since the day it was picked up at the dealer’s where it run back and forth on the test track (2m to 2.4m total) It was now to be put in service for the 2015 season, when point to point Samedan to Thusis should/will be a reality. GRRRRR.
KISS is now collecting the complaints to determine how many engines are affected and to come up with a solution. The first series of engines had a a steel chassis.
