Kaskaskia Valley Railway 9th Annual Fall OPs

Aahhh yes cars and girls…I still juggle around the one but not the other.

I’ll be quiet, anything I write will get me in trouble.

ahhhh, now we have a chicken and a rooster…

Calling me a “chicken” because I won’t publicly insult your son. Wow! Here I was just trying to be polite. I wasn’t involved in his hatching and your the one that chose not to fry that egg.

…he couldn’t make up his mind whether to fry it, or poach it…instead he did neither…!!!

We ended up with not a “Rooster”, but a “Roaster”, and it seems to be half baked !!!

…grinning…

(crackin up)

You guys are out of control AGAIN! I’ll be in my room sobbing.

Noah is all healed up from the dog/cat quarrel and Klay says: “he might” when asked if he is going… always a last minute with teenagers eh?
2 weeks til Fall Ops!

Uhh, doesn't that require them having been IN control at some point? Just sayin . . .

Less than 2 weeks to go and we have a number of out of town guests coming to the event. Weather has been great, hope it holds. Friday is going to be a run day at Jane and Andy Clarke’s. It all should prove to be a good weekend, no matter what happens.

I guess you twisted Andy’s arm to run on Friday?

We’re really looking forward to this event!

Hey, I’m happy to have yall down anytime to run… I’m just not ready/set up to run a full ops session like Ric can handle…

But, I do have a little running room for a couple of trains… I’m still in a preliminary planning stage… hehehe…

Might have to take ya up on that sometime Andy–just need some sort of larger battery engine…

Robbie the little engines run just as good as the big ones on his railroad.

They might, but a Big Boy would be a lot of fun on a railroad that size. Hmmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder how I could do that....

And on topic, I will definitely be there one of the two days; I can’t guarantee which one, but I will be there.

Size doesn’t matter… run one, run all…

Silencing myself in the corner (again) ;)

Dad…I fully expect pictures with this thread!

Son, hold your breath, please…

Less than a week before the fun starts, actually some of it happened yesterday as the guys I normally operate with on Friday (AndyC and MarkG) came over to help set up the portable steam track, one last time. Future plans call for this track to be taken apart and many parts of the steam trackage to be used for future permanent expansion.

It all kicks off Friday (11/5) with a run at Andy Clarke’s and then by Saturday (11/6) at noon, we should be underway here at the KVRwy.

New trackage has been installed at Beagle Junction and there are some other changes. Some that will be done and some that won’t be completed before the Ops Session. All of you are welcome to stop by either Saturday (11/6) or Sunday (11/7) and I’m sure AndyC wouldn’t mind you come by Friday (11/5). Call or write for directions.
