I just finished installing one of kadee’s remote couplers. I used a Zimo Mx695 series DCC decoder. The install was almost too simple and with the Zimo “waltz”. After fine tuning the coupler it worked flawlessly. I think for changing from one string of cars for another or turning an engine around it is great other than that unless you have more money than you know what to do with useless. For my application I think it is great.
Where are the pictures and video? You know the old saying!! LOL
I’m quite intrigued with these. How are they different than just drilling a hole in a standard kadee (on that little tab) and pulling it open with a servo? Sorry if that’s a dumb question.
There really not different just packaged in a nice small package. Very convenient. just like mounting a regular kadee with a wire attached.
Im really liking the idea of these. Cant wait for them to be out a few years, the kinks worked out and the price to drop…
One of the members from our club has been testing these out for a few months… His posts about it have been over on the MLS site…
They are ok, but I can’t see installing them on every car and locomotive… Each individuaal coupler needs an address code for them to work…
He has played with the kadee stuff, and I do believe he is now playing with the phoenix stuff…
I’m thinking one on the nose of my helper engines allowing them to shove to the top and cut away.
Dave Bodner built a similar automatic KaDee, basically doing what you said Martin.
