My poor eyesight played a dirty trick on me.
I went to install Kadees on some new Bachmann cars and halfway through I discovered I bought the smaller Kadees. Will they “play nice” with my larger Kadee couplers or do I have to buy more couplers?
They’ll play nicely.

Not only will they play nicely, they’re also better looking. 
That’s what I was thinking. I’ve bought the last of my large couplers! Thanks everyone!
I use nothing but Kadee No. 1’s on my equipment. But I’ve found they mate pretty well with Kadee G’s, Accucraft, and MTH knuckles pretty well too. Besides, as Hans-Jorg says, they look better.
BTW, Doug, how far are you from Palm Springs?

We’re probably about two hours from Palm Springs. We live west of Victorville.
The smaller couplers look nice and will play with the larger kadees but i’ve had problems with them in long trains if the smaller coupler is at the front of a train. They come apart. I’m talking 30-40 car trains.I use only the 830’s now.
Since I run with 4-5 cats on my 5 percent grades I won’t have a problem!
I will slowly start switching over to the smaller couplers.

You might want to stay with the larger Kadees as you said your eye sight isn’t that well.
I have thought about tha eyesight challenges and figure that after I start using the three Bachmann cars with the small couplers I’ll know if it works or not.

no problem. I use the larger Kadee’s but over time have ended up with a bunch of #1 laying around.
Doug, I pass through that area several times a year travelling to Palm Springs. I’d like to see your RR. I’ve been using the Kadee No 1s for quite a while. They are great!
