Märklin 1:32 scale (aka Spur1) running on 45 mm track gauge.
Bizarre. WWII, is the assumption. Rather cherry item.
Oh well, it could be worse.

It could be a Brandywine & Gondor RR Balrog catcher! Have fun, David Meashey
Its still LGB. Surprised the guy isn’t asking €900 like all the other bozo’s on Ebay who think thier anything LGB is made of solid gold.
Victor Smith said:Yup I couldn't agree more, I needed a couple of snow plows for a project and look at this idiots prices. http://www.ebay.com/itm/LGB-20490-SILVER-GENESIS-DIESEL-LOCO-SNOW-PLOW-PART-NEW-/280783827858?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item4160053392

I ended up finding them at a dealer for $10.00 a piece.

What do you want LGB for free? Some are not being unreasonable. Check out the classified.

Actually I’d settle for pre-implosion prices - even adjusted for inflation! $60-75 for a 3/4 worn out Stainz that’s missing parts is…

Exactly! People are clearing out their junk boxes with EPL trashers that they would havent been able to give away before the Big Hindenburg and charging insane prices. Whether they are actually selling anything at the loony tune price is still a big question.
Bill you are a little late for this 14 year old post. The former Brandywine River Museum, located on the Brandywine Creek has had a model railroad club setting up trains for Christmas since I was a kid.
Just down the road is Longwood Gardens, a beautiful place, they also have trains. You need to visit them when they have one of their night time water fountain light shows
Sorry Bill;
My fantasy railroad refers to the Brandywine River bordering the Shire in Middle Earth, not a creek in the USA.
Close but no cigar, David Meashey
What!?
Dang Dave, I was looking forward to seeing Christmas in Rivendale or at least bringing in the new year under the Eye of Sauron…
Bill,
Come on over and I’ll take you to Roadside America!
But it’s been gone for well over a year! (& I hated to see it go. Oh well, The Rail Yard hobby shop closes officially Sunday 11/30/25, so lots of good things will soon be past tense!)
Sadly, David Meashey
Quiet you…I was giving Bill homework and now you done spoiled it !

Already there… Roadside America went down that rabbit hole, Rooster.
Bugger! Now I need to find out about Anthracite.
Bill;
The Neco Allen Hotel in Pottsville, PA once had a sub-basement tap room connected to the local anthracite mines so the miners could gather for lunch (and beer) without emerging from their mines.
Regards, David Meashey
Bill,
If you are headed that way you better swing by here and pick up a couple 6 packs so you don’t look like an outsider from Pennsyltucky.
What a great business model for the pub.
Oh well, even though I have lost 45 pounds (I still look like a stout PA Dutchman), plus I still cuss and fuss in Pennsylvania Dutch (nobody understands it down here) so I should fit right in.
Gute genung, David Meashey
