And they spelled “gauge” wrong… ha ha!
Greg
To say nothing of “narrow…”
… and your attention was gotten how???
Bob, if you’re asking me, well… I found that sign while I was kicking about the remnants of the Southern Pacific’s narrow gauge open-air “shops” at Keeler, California back in 1975 (or, as my grandson puts it, “waaaay back in nineteen-ought-seventy-five”). There was still plenty of interesting stuff to pick over…I mean, look at…back then.

Note the classy dwelling made from a coach in the background. Steve
No Steve, I was not insinuating anything, just being facetious. I have seen many things mis-spelled deliberately to gain attention.
Thanks for posting the wonderful ‘dated’ pix.
Bob C.
Wow, great pics! I think some of those things may have still been there the first time I passed through Keeler but it’s been so long, I can’t recall.
There is still a house made from a coach, saw it this year. Not sure if it’s the same one. It’s sandwiched between two other buildings.
Well that sign sure beats Butt Hollow Road, a street on the west end of nearby Salem, VA. It used to be marked by a sign on I81 where the interstate passed over that street, but the local college kids kept stealing the sign. I’m sorry that I never took a photo of that sign, but pulling off to the side of the road on I81 can be a life-threatening experience.
Best,
