Large Scale Central

Just doing some testing a few days ago.

Had to re-build the cir boards in Elden B. Dash 9 and a few minor things to get it running again. Had to also give it a good scrubbing to see what color it was. lol Was not in very good shape.

Now the sound works great as the rest of the Eng is running fine.

Had to also do some work on my Pacific again. But minor stuff like install a 4 channel R/C relay card to trig. the toots, Coulper noise, Bell & Steam release off of the Sierra sound card. Still has the two reed sw for crossings and bell.
Changed the Head and rear light to LED’s " Tender back up light and markers resisted in the tender." Marker lights with LED (3mm)
Fire box flicker lighting that show out the bottom also.
Tie in the motor to choses of wire wound Resis. to slow down the motor for real operation on hills and start ups or just straight to track power. Chuf was 4 mags on center driver wheel with on off set for a really good sound.
Beefed up the springs on the block with Wt. for better traction… beside more details.

Here is a short video of them running.

The Pacific… darn if I didn’t forget to turn on the head lights. Oh well it runs find now again.
The Pacific was a long fun project that was on it last legs when a buddy dropped it off to me that should of been scraped out…

Noel, nice video. its nice to see some greenery;)

Great job Noel . Love the pond and the beautiful bridges you have there . Cool video too .

Tks guys… We really starting in our old age get to running trains after getting this vac. field to look like something green over the yrs… lol.

Seem like if you want something really bad, you got to build it your self. I had a lot of idea and no one made what we wanted. We started a train group guys, got together and start making stuff, like all of the bridges and animation and etc. I need a way to get my trains out to the track and with the guys we built two kind of large train cars… I call them set of dbl’s. " cart with a trailer."

Wife keep asking me if this train layout will ever get finished and stop growing… Had to laf. and under my breath I said to myself… I don’t see any tracks yet out to the back reservoir where the row boat is. lol.

Very cool video Noel, Nice greenery! I need to add some garden to my garden railroad! Mine is only a year old and gardening is taking a back seat to railroading!

One of our train guys came over to help on some track repair and motive power problems. After that, we ran a few trains to see if any power was lost on some of the bad jointer.
I had to pull in another 30 foot or so cable run for some old rail jointer that was losing power with heavy loads. That why you may see 4 or 5 units with some long trains in this video to get the amp up to 8 or more for tests up hill.
We have a lot of blocks set up and sometimes we lose power that way to. Now looks like they have been corrected for now.
Video, showing our test runs.

Good video Noel, I love it! I love that freight station…

Nice to see somebody’s layout is nice and green.

tks Guys… Kind of nice being green, but it can be a lot of work and darn this stuff grows faster than this guy can trim and keep it up sometimes… If the weather stays like it has been may start getting out the building to start our group train runs again.
Also, this may be a real dry year with not much rain this winter and may not be this green.

Note: Nice to see other photos and video that LSC is about the only place now that show what others are doing with there layouts… Tks to Bob & Keep them coming.

Did another test run with one of our train group guys “Elden B.” with his Mallet.
Here is a short video of it after repaired and leveled some tracks that had a few low spots.

Great video , love the cow sounds in the cattle cars. can you give me some info on it? thanks Ron

Noel,

Another great video, as always. I love seeing your railroad.

@Ron, Who the heck is Ray?

Ray who?

Ron T. The sound on our cows are the yellow LGB cattle car in the video. It has a more later sound card/ version of it that work off the track voltage to change the sounds…

Other sound cards…
We also" not on video," have a sound card that is done by ITT products and runs off of a 9v batt… It has to have a reed sw. or some kind of trigger to operate it. Neat sound tho.

The first LGB cattle car and wish I had one, had a 4-way micro switch setting up on a pendulum post. As the car rocks it hit one of the micro switches… Neat idea and came out around the 80ths I think.

Our group train guys have a few of these difference cattle sound cars… so some day as the weather get better, we’ll get them all together for a long noisy cattle train. Should make a neat video.

Tks. for the nice comments.
Oh…Joe Z… Love that signature video you have… That about the way we are…" I like trains.".

Thanks Noel, would like a nine volt sound card that you turn on with a switch. and just put in the car.

Yesterday we diceded to make up a all Santa fe car train to see what we hae in our tran carts. We found a lot of WB Eng’s, but not to many Santa fe rolling stock. We did make up a train and Elden B. and I had a lot of fun running then.
Just another test to ck out the the Railroad for needed fixes.

Here is a short video of it.
