Why remove them, just paint them chrome or brass and purchase 6 Grovers!
Actually it was the sellers who were the devil. Advertised full office suite on Facebook for like $20. It was really a scam to get your credit card info, but they did email a key. It was a corporate license that called back to a license server on every use. Microsoft eventually got wise and shut it down. I got wise a day or so after my purchase and cancelled that credit card!
Now I use Google apps for free. They know everything about me, but that’s OK. I wish they had an equivalent program to Visio. I know there are freeware CAD programs out there, but I’m not wanting to invest the time to learn them.
I still have a legit Office license on my old PC in the train room, but it’s real slow and not comfortable to work at.
The solar panels look great and the stairs are looking real steam punkie.
The only bottle of Rust I have is oil based and I don’t have any thinner in stock. I was looking around for disposable brushes when I remembered…
So - Q-Tips I got. I don’t think I could even paint a fuzzy line with these!
The 1:24 crew doesn’t have to worry about the 1:20.3 crew stealing any of their thunder. This guy nearly fell asleep while building the stairs!
With the stairs, lighting and body attachment complete, it was time for some more road testing and a pose in South Willow Hill. Disregard the WALL sign!
Day lighting…
Last up is some kind of railing, or chain for around the rear “patio”. I’ve put some loops in the end of some aluminum rod with the thought of using jewelry chain draped between them.
I think it’s screaming for a red light outside the door!
Jon Anne, you don’t have to turn on the red light. Jon Anne, you don’t have to wear that dress tonight. Walk those tracks for money, you don’t care if it’s wrong or right.
I installed the stanchions and cut some chain. It looked way too light with the heavy stanchion rod so I opted to just bend more rod for the rail. At this point, I think I’m done…
The figure is Fn3. The van body is 1:22ish. Some of my details are scaled to Fn3, others are just made to look similar to the real thing. Many are too clunky, but overall I think I achieved the look I was going for.
Now that it’s done, I cleaned up my modeling space and am ready for another project…
Jon, I’m nominating your place for ShedOps 2025.
BTW, I keep noticing 2 clocks in the background. You’re not working on a flux-capacitor as well?
Beautiful progress, Jon!
I guess I missed it, but how does the dude get on that balcony?
And holy cow, I completely missed where this is in your house! Or maybe its the bump-out in your new RV??
I wish As we consider our inevitable move, we are discussing how a shed like yours could replace my basement space if we end up with a modular on a slab.
The dude got up there by climbing under. I should add stirrup steps as the doors to the patio open up and out. Probably from the outside unless I automate them. Yep, that’s it. The top door is motorized like and awning and the bottom doors open from the inside!
@Hines The blue one is UTC and the red one Eastern local (currently standard) time. The devices under and to the left are amateur radio transmitting equipment. UTC is used for logging contacts. I’ve been inactive for over 10 years, but the clocks are still there!
And I just realized I’ve been looking at this thing upside down for so long I thought it was the bottom that was two doors and the top swung up. Nope, the bottom drops down and the top two swing out. I did realize that when I installed the railing keeping it below the swinging door. Oops!
Came put great Jon. I think you captured your desired theme. Very retro looking RV MOW bunk car.
Your car is looking great. Nice job on the stairs. they are not easy to do.
Now all you need is a “For Rent” sign and a red light as Rooster suggested.
Don’t look too close; they are a bit askew when seen straight on from the front!
Jon, I really laughed at that one. Selective photography is great. It’s a admirable thing to admit it isn’t perfect. Great build
Nah - Too clean and organized. Not mine if you didn’t catch that.
It’s been over a week since I’ve done anything with this build. I think I am done. This morning we woke up to a few inches of snow followed by temps in the 40’s this afternoon. The high sun angle made it feel spring like when the sun peeked out this afternoon. It was great looking afternoon light, but by the time I got things outside for the beauty shots, the cloud cover came back. I took the pictures anyway. Of course, as soon as the car was back inside the clouds parted again
Some beautiful shots Jon. I don’t know how you’re going to top these ones for a glamour shot.
