JLCX Swithcher?

So something you don’t see everyday is a SW1200 on the mainline as the third engine in a string. Saw this yesterday and could only get one quick photo. The lead loco was the same color but no lettering. At the end of the train were two more locos one of which was the same unlettered blue. I believe the two unlettered locos were I believe Dash-9’s.

Found this info on i http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/locoPicture.aspx?id=206352

Wonder what it is doing in a BNSF train headed west. Anyone know anything about it.

My guess is it’s going in for major service and it’s safer upfront.

FJLCX is a loco leasing outfit. I suspect the SW-1200 is off to a new home.

The other blue locos are likely lease units in transit as well…Or they could be borrowed locomotives paying back HP hours for unit trains that pass thru regional railroads on the way to the final destination.

FLCX = Flex Leasing Corp.

JLCX = J&L Consulting (https://www.facebook.com/jlconsulting645) SW1200 #1238 is on their Facebook page. Also a leasing company.

That fae book post pic is dated Jan 12 and said is waiting inspection and a new leasee so I guess what I saw was delivery to new home as suspect.

Just struck me odd to see a switcher in that position but now it makes perfect sense, I suspected heading to or from repair which would have been just as plausible.

I think you will almost always see power units being carried next to the engines. I think it is easier to control and doesn’t strain rolling stock couplers.
