Large Scale Central

Jersey Central FA-1 + FB-1

No, the CNJ never did these exact units, but they are close to the ones they had.

I had them custom painted and lettered by Shawmut Car Shops (a blatant plug). I really like them, but the CFO has decreed we have too many engines. (Can she say that?)

I am very happy with the result. I will let you know the windshield wipers were not in the box.

B unit pictures.

Other side of A unit.

Both of us did a lot of research to find the correct paint. Found pictures of a not FA unit with this number, so I picked that.

If no one wants it, I suppose I would get stuck with it. You can see the wheels have no wear.

These were undecorated from the Aristo Library.

I will offer here first before I go you-know-where and try to sell them.

$500 for the pair. Plus postage, maybe pick-up in New Jersey.

Even if they don’t sell, enjoy the pictures.

Not being a diesel expert, I think CNJ had F3s that this was painted like. Was that a different manufacturer?

Lou, the F3 was an EMD product. The Fa was an Alco product.

Them’s right pretty, but I also have too many locomotives in my stable. Its a shame that you have to part with them.

They are beautiful. Sounds like you have a CFO that graduated from my CFO’s class. (Too many engines!) Yes she says that, temporary deafness afflicts the motive department from time to time. Good luck with the sale, someone’s going to get some nice looking units.

OK, maybe I went a bit overboard. For the LSC family $400.

fonely. If only I needed them. They are sharp.

My mom doesn’t say I have too many trains. She knows I could be doing worse things with my time and money.

Leave 'em at $500, Lou…maybe you’ll just have to be “stuck” with them. They’re real beauties.

John, with that logic, he could price them even higher. I mean, they are one of a kind, custom models. Not to be for sale again, anywhere, at any price. $1,000 for the set, plus shipping AND insurance sounds fair to me.
