The Kittatinny Mt RR is slowly thawing out. Lost a lot of snow especially in the lower elevations. Some of the mountains still have a lot of snow. The guys took advantage of the warmer weather and moved some logs. Riding above Clove Hollow

Snow still deep in the Clove. Train passes above on the trestles.

Passing the logging spur

Heading towrds camp

Backend view with the ridge in background

Passing through camp Kittatinny. Church is still snowed in

Camp still snowed in.

Heading over Red Rock

Coming off the red rock trestles

Heading into Hainsville Yard

Engine house

Enjoying the sun

Ranger station

Stopping at Hainsville Yard

Culvers Fire Tower

Our snow is gone… -1 last night, a balmy 15 today with a west wind at 15-20… I HATE the cold!!!

Here in NORTHERN Florida, it hit 80ºF. I’m in a tee shirt and shorts all day, and I’m still hot. hehehe

Heck it hit 70 in the Big Sandy Valley today…rained…but still warm!!!

70 degrees here too. I was working on the GRR in shorts and a t-shirt. Sweating enough I’m glad it wasn’t 80
Ralph

Nice pics Shawn. It only hit the mid fifties here. :)

We were supposed to have a sunny warm day too, but it never happened. Dense fog all day, never got much above 40. My planned operating session was cancelled :frowning: Should have headed to NJ!

Lol dont forget warm in these parts is 40 degrees, thats all we made it to today. We also had the fog most of the day. I ended up with an hour of sun and clouds and then the fog rolled back in.

At least my track has all shown up again with no help from the plow. Track in Deep cut is covered with pine needles, but all the rest looks like it could be run.

Very beautiful. The pictures look great . Thank you for sharing.

Tom

Looking good. I sure do admire your RR and equipment Shawn.

Thanks guys. Cal the best I can do for a track plan is this. Its from my GR article but I drew in my newest track plan. Red is my inner loop about 55 ft Green is outer loop about 100+ft The small blue line will someday connect to the outer loop. Top left where it says future expansion, is where I have the outer and inner loops connected.

Cale - If you haven’t seen the write up of Shawn’s RR in GR you need to get a copy

Hard to believe five years ago this was the start. Looking on layout plan it would be the red inner loop.
