“the temperature runs between 60-85 all year” - before you leave, will you adopt me and take me along? I’ll even live outside in a tent! Seriously, how affordable is a move to where you’re going? For years I’ve been telling my wife that we need to find a place where we can garden year-round and I can run trains 365.

Hey fellers, it took a number of years to get ready and then it all came about rather fast. We had to sell our home here in Las Vegas and since we bought it cheap, really cheap, we didn’t have much trouble finding a buyer at our asking price. We move out next Thursday and into the new home on Friday. We found a place that suited our needs, lots of piece and quiet. A little over 3 acres with a 3br 2ba home. Of ya, costs us about 120,000 all in all…
Many nice homes are at an even lower price… This is one of many listings, type in search, Hawaii MLS 231161 to see what I am talking about…
Some grow lots of vegies there along with various fruits. I think growing old will be on my ticket although I’m up in years but feel like I was 20 years younger.
Running trains all year around will be nifty but someone has to do it !!!

That listing you pointed to is about the same size as my present house in CT, but about 1/3 to 1/2 the price. If I had the equity I had a few years ago before the market went bust I’d seriously consider it 'cause I’m getting tired of winter. Unfortunately I probably would be lucky to sell for enough to pay my mortgage, so I won’t be selling anytime soon.
We had close friends that moved to Hawaii a couple years ago.
They were back within 18 months of living there.
They said it rained almost every day.
They missed the four seasons, too.
I might miss Spring and Fall, but you can keep winter.
