Yeah, I think the great acorn wars are coming to a close. It’s not nearly as noisy as it was when you were here. Though after you left is when they really started coming down.
I think there’s hope for another session.

Good, I’d like to see what you got done in Green Springs…
So, a fairly nice day today and I thought I’d go ahead and put down my track and reworked switches.
I placed things about where I thought they should go, and brought out a few cars to test the installation.
I thought it would only take an hour or so, but it ended up being over four hours. At times, it just looked like it would never end. There was a lot more cutting and fitting than I expected.
I actually ran out of juice on my cordless Dremel, so decided to call it a day - just one short piece of track needs to be installed.
I also want to fill in some gaps where there’s not enough ties, but I have to stain some cedar pieces for that. Another day…
Nice re-do… Looks functional…
Bruce , lovely job . The roofing stuff really does start to bring things to life somehow .
Very interesting following your work (your fun?)

Cheop’s Law: Nothing ever gets done on time or within budget.
Nice work. Inspires me to get Bovil done before the snow flies.
Edit: Damn autocorrect. Where does it say that Bill Gates knows more about the English language than do I?
Looks like we should be able to fit more cars on the sidings, that is, if you don’t start building more…
I just re-built the stub switch for the passing siding in Hesperus, it was starting to be a problem. Now to do the other end.
I don’t think I have any more room. For 30’ cars, it’s basically an 11 car yard.
The far right track above is for cabooses. The track with the switcher on it is my arrival-departure track. I can probably put 4 of my 34 foot cars on the middle track, but if I substitute a 34’ car for a 30’ car on the left track it will foul the run-around crossing.
It’s probably tight for 4 cars on the right track. I just didn’t happen to get out 2 more boxcars to try it out.
It does clear with 3 30’ cars…
Yanno, I think you could add a right hand switch to the turntable lead, just past the tree and move the yard office to between the turntable lead and an engine storage track… Then run a track off the switch where the yard office is currently shown for the cabooses…
That would leave th e Now Caboose track available for more freight cars…
Yard looks good, Bruce…
I thought that a yard was full when it was half full.
Going to my room, now.

or…tunnel through the tree and extend that track through it and use that for the turntable lead…
Tree tunnel .
That’s a plan ! The only one in the USA!!! Fame and fortune!!! Go for it !!!.
Mike
So your hoppers haul blue flowers? How cute.
Seriously that looks good. I wish I could negotiate rights for a yard.

Not me I’m always serious!
Hmmm, methinks it was not the tunnel that killed that tree. Methinks that tree of Joe’s was already long dead.

You could always put a big mirror at the end and make it look like a 22 car yard.
Is that a scale load of green bananas in the one hopper car?
Not quite. I think it’s leftover from when the Daisies came to visit my layout and run a lemonade stand.
