The 4 year old grandson was here yesterday for a marathon train running session. Since getting back from the train shows of the last 2 weekends, I let the train stuff sit. It was planned that all would be put back away as part of the playing trains with the grandson. Over the day, with breaks for cookies, plowing snow at the marina with tractor (I can still remember the first time I got to ride with my grandpa on his brand new 1952 Ford tractor), watching train movies while we ate and seeing the great grandpa, it was all accomplished. I do believe the only thing that needs to be put away is Gordon and coaches on the HO layout. Nothing got broken, grandson and grandfather are both exhausted, but the tasks were accomplished.
We must have done something right. My daughter is totally upset about her son riding on a tractor and she’s very upset that he was allowed to ride in the front seat of the jeep, without his booster seat, and only the seat belt holding him in (passenger air bag turned off). I don’t know what she is upset about, I didn’t let him drive, yet. She decided that what happens in Carlyle, stays in Carlyle. Works for me. Do you know I’ve had to teach him to pee standing up and he has a father in his life? My own personal battle againsting “wuszing”. God, help this Nation. I guess we are going to have to learn to write our name in the snow. I might get in trouble for that one.
