I heard about it but Regner actually has it at the NTF and already on their website.
Now I need to figure out which bank to rob.

And a true-scale model of a well-known and well-loved locomotive, as well.
Very tempting.

Terry, you are definitely right that this is a tempting model of a well-loved and known locomotive. But, if you care about your skin and hair I would NEVER refill a locomotive under fire, open or enclosed… I once had a fire in the bunker of one of my Garratts, just because I did not fill it with water and the butane which escaped while I was filling the gas tank stayed in the bunker - simply because it is heavier than air… I prefer not to repeat this experience;-(! Well, cold and hot gas tank idea was already used on the C&S Mogul by Aster, it works well as long as the second valve is fully open and the first one - on the cold tank- is used to control the gas flow. In any case, I am glad to see that Regner finally got the hint and the rivets on this model are finer than 3" scale;-))) If, unlike other Regners, this locomotive actually runs without the need to replace the cylinders etc, I may also be tempted! However, the indication, that it is not a model for beginners, makes me slightly cautious! Best wishes from Tokyo, Zubi
Well folks, I actually did get tempted to the degree that I emailed Mr Regner about the locomotive boiler! To my utter disappointment it is made from BRASS (as are all other Regner boilers Mr Regner explained…) Needless to say, this news put an abrupt end to this temptation… oh, well…, fortunately there is still Accucraft DE but could Lorenz Schug be convinced to start investing in engines other than German? Pretty resigned, Zubi
Glad you found out THAT little gem, Zubi. Puts a whole new perspective on it to many - me included. I will NOT be getting one either.

Terry, Ig & the Crows, sorry if I put you off this otherwise good looking lokie… The body work and the valve gear looks so much better than their earlier works! I did not ask Mr Regner whether he would be willing to make a one-off copper boiler. Perhaps I will still do that. After all Mr Reppingen did make a copper boiler for my EKB - which is a fantastic locomotive by the way. Only, Mr Regner seems to produce the entire batch of kits, not single locomotives for individual clients. Anyway, probably by the time I find money for one G3/4 they will all be sold out anyway;-( Best wishes, Zubi
Well, haven’t found a bank yet either.
Would someone be willing to tell me why I would not want a brass boiler? I really have no idea
If the espresso machines are any indication it’s all about better heat transfer on copper.
