After a hard days work, I have breathed life into Shay No9!!! Intially I had to finish up the frame and mount the trucks…
Had to go get a new handle for the back storm door, and while shopping at the Hardware store, made a real find, nice brass chain in 7/8 scale, which I promptly used for saftey chains…
Then with the help of Tony Walshams wonderful instructions and his really great EVO system I breathed life into her! Battery hooked up turnedit on, lights activated, and with a nudge of the stick…there was MOVEMENT!
Tony’s system is great! Simple to set up and use. In this case I’m using the EVO 5a, and temporarily an 18 v NiCad pack (the NiMH were still on the charger) His install kit in addtion to coming with a poly fuse and an otion for onboard charging, inclludes a remote sound volume control, most impressive.
As you can see I’m using a 5 1/4 speaker for the Sierra sound (yet to be installed) The wires are stil in a Rats nest state beacuse I still have to fit the tender tank shell, and the wiring for the rear light is only temporary , the bulb and socket for it appears hanging over the coupler.
