It’s December, 1939 here in Choctaw. One of our local residents has received a major award from a publisher in Chicago. We think it might be by a famous Italian sculptor – it was marked FRAGILE (FRA-GEE_LAY) … it must be Italian!
The award winner graciously donated it to the railroad for use on the annual holiday train. The town elders have gathered while the mayor makes a few remarks. Nothing beats the “soft glow of electric sex”, he stated. Someone in the audience remarked, “It reminds me of the Fourth of July!” The wives decided to boycott the activity and stay home. Better have a can of glue handy just in case they show up later.
It is definitely a holiday season worth remembering. Maybe someday they will make a movie about this major award. Until they do, you’ll just have to get by with a heartfelt Season’s Greeting from the folks here in Choctaw.
Happy Holidays from Bob and the crew at the Choctaw Coal & Railway Company.
