It’s a good thing I’m not filthy rich and bored, because . . .
… even if I wasn’t bored, I’m the kind of guy who’d buy and make operational one of the remaining DDA40X carcasses …
… for the sole and express purpose of having it painted this way

Where are my sunglasses. Caution view with shaded eyeware! Go for it Forrest but you should have warned us first.
Presumably that’s so it can hide between the fire apparatus at the airport… all it needs is a red light bar or two, and a siren…
Dave Marconi said:Dave, I am grateful to you for the warning. Luckily I wear re-actalite spectacles which do shield from the brightest sunshine and colors.

I normally avoid green rolling stock as it blends far to easily with plants, bushes etc, but that loco would certainly make its whereabouts known. lol
I won’t mention that after the engine was overhauled, that engine was painted & decaled for the Illinois Terminal Convention held here in St Louis, last spring… The Illinois Terminal decals have come off, and the Loco was decaled and numbered for it’s home Railroad, in Indiana… Believe it or not, It was a truely beautiful sight to see in person…
Gad! Not wishing to insult you or anything but that paint job would be an excuse for me to pay to have it scrapped! hehe!
No, you got it all wrong. That’s their new Chroma Key scheme. You know like at baseball games where they have those two green screens just behind home plate? The TV cameras put ads into those spots when they broadcast. This is the railroad’s way of trying out new paint schemes. They just key in whatever paint scheme they want…

Well, usually!

Ya I painted my new born room that color in 1970. Man what was I thinking. Later RJD

Do you think there would be enough room in that submarine for a sound unit that played Yellow Submarine?Doug Arnold said:Seeing the date you quote Doug suggests that maybe it should be hauling a flat car with a yellow submarine load. lol
