Driving down the highway on Sunday trying to get all the RR radio chatter over the road noise and the blowing fan, it finally hit me. 
The scanner has an ear phone output, the “sound system” has an auxiliary source input, get a 3ft connecting cable, DUMMY!
And here I was straining my ears for the last four years. 
How very tempting to make a joke , but I shall refrain .

C’mon’ we know that HJ would not miss the opportunity to take a potshot at Mike. Personally, I commend him for his restraint.

Om a similar note, whenever someone says to me: “I hate to say this but…” I interrupt them and say “thank you for restraining yourself from saying something you really did not want to”.
It’s often an interesting conversation after that, most people (when you are face to face) stop dead in their tracks…
Sometimes when they bluster on, I respond: “if you were really sorry, you would stop, so I believe you are using the phrase to rationalize something that should NOT be said”…
People don’t often like to be called out, but sometimes they “get it”… and sometimes not. Usually that “technique” is no longer used with me, at least.

Good tactic. 
A friend back East had the perfect rejoinder for those guys who would angrily declare “I don’t argue with idiots” He’d say “I’m glad to hear that, however I often seem to be in that position.”
On another note; I demonstrated the amplified scanner volume to SWMBO, sure got her attention.

Thank you Steve, not replying to "whatshisname"s posts doesn’t take much restraint, just determined resolve.

PS I am obviously living on borrowed time on this website , and naturally , people who want me off the site are now taking advantage of that . The pack instinct is taking over .
