Large Scale Central

It takes a lot for

… some people to get the message.

Many, many moons ago Bob (He Who Should Be Obeyed) established some basic ground rules. I really wonder if it is a lack of comprehension, illiteracy or some other malady that prevents some people from grasping the simple concepts.
OTOH it is more or less in keeping with the way some of the other simple concepts - about garden railways - are chewed over. Absolutely flabbergasting! OK I head back to my cave now!

And this refers to what, prezackly?

HJ,
like you, I am also disillusioned with the range of non train related topics posted here. It seems the same old people up to their tricks again. Maybe just way too much free time on their hands or a hidden agenda to promote. As you remind us, actually being able to read is a definate advantage.

Respectfully, then maybe the best thing you could do is not frequent: Home>Forums>General Discussion and stick to the other 20 or so forum available here. Here in the U.S.A. we are used to having the natural right to freedom of speech and there is so much more we, as internet “friends” enjoy discussing without feeling the need to insult or censor each other.

Even your opinion should be respected. JK

Respectfully, the best thing you can do is to keep the off-topic chatter to a minimum (we have forums for other hobbies and such), and keep politics and religion out of it entirely. I’ve laid these rules down many times before, and I’m at the end of my patience for it.

Okay. I got it out my system: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFTLKWw542g

David,

Let me give you a very crass example: if you belong to a private club with established rules one of which states “Do not defecate on the grass!”, would you ignore that and dump on the grass or any other place that hits your fancy? Would you really and then cite whichever amendment to justify your action?

OR would you claim not to understand the rule, being illiterate or suffering from a very rare disease that prevents you from understanding concepts that are too simple?

THANK YOU BOB!!!

I’ve been apart of this site for a while now and I stay here because of the “Train Related” topics. I refuse to engage or participate in any of the political or religious crap that others like to spread around. I have friends and fellow club members that like to do that and I just “Delete” the subjects all together.

There is alot of great “Train Related” information here from great “Train People”. Let’s keep it that way.

So, …

Why are you posting this, HJ?

I think that you just enjoy stirring the pot. :stuck_out_tongue:

Everyone, enough on this topic. We all know the rules now, correct? (everyone nod). Good, back to trains.

Ah, as expected. Very simple, Steve, it appears that for some the message has to be dumbed down, exaggerated or lampooned in order to get a simple concept. Which really is a pity.

But I’m heading back to my cave now; designing some more layouts for those who grasp concepts of different complexities!

PS Don’t wear out your roundy-round, eh! :stuck_out_tongue:

OOPs sorry Bob. BTW one forum I participate on has a feature that warns you that another message has been posted in the meantime as soon as you click the post button.

If the club has a tennis court and a golf course and a sauna, is it appropriate to play tennis in you “birthday suit”? Is it acceptable to be naked in the sauna?

Certain behavior (discussions) are appropriate in the one location but not in the other.

Does General Discussion have as it’s definition, "Talk about anything and everything else that doesn’t fit in another forum. (NO politics or religion!) "?

I didn’t scroll down to the bottom of the thread with the STOP sign before I posted. Maybe the whole thread should be deleted.
