besides in Todd’s Backyard.
Yes it does exist. In fact the Cape Cod Central used to go all the way to Province town and off a branch line to Chatham as well. There is a real neat local history of trains on Cape Cod and sadly it sounds like a familiar story of many small RR’s that of boom times and then bust.
Most of the track has been replaced by a bicycle trail but it does still run from Hyannis to the Cape Cod canal and over the coolest lift bridge in the world.
Were you or are you on Cape Cod Ken?
We rode the Cape Cod Central on Wednesday, Todd. Signed up for the Colonial Lunch Train. Nice meal, nice people, and if there weren’t so many trees in the way, probably some nice scenery. My wife found it on Facebook, and asked how far away Cape Cod was from where we were staying. 1 1/2 Hr drive from Framingham. We stopped in Plymouth on the way back.
It didn’t quite make it to the lift bridge, we stopped short of that, then returned to Hyannis.
Ken, if you still in Massachusetts there is a NETCA train show in Marlboro, MA. It is at the Holiday Inn on route 20 right off I495.

We’re home now Larry. Visited Boston and Charlestown on Monday, Lex and Concord Tuesday, The train ride and Plymouth wed, the Plimoth Plantation Thurs, and hit Sturbridge on the way home Fri.
Nice Trip ken. It’s good to have a wife that finds them for you!
Todd, I just hope rivet counters don’t descend upon your layout now after seeing this. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-sealed.gif)
Rivet counters are not allowed on my RR. If they do come for a visit they get their mouths riveted shut in the driveway then they can see the trains. LOL
The theme is FUN so anything goes on my RR.
Sounds like you folks had a really good time Ken. The real CC Central is a nice ride especially when it takes you over the canal . They could do some trimming along the route to make it better.

Ken,
I wonder if you saw and maybe visited the Mayflower II at Plimoth Plantation. The ship sailed from my home town to the USA in 1957. My late father and late father-in-law were involved in the construction of this replica ship. Some of the American crew lodged with my folks whilst they were ‘learning the ropes’ of the ship.
Yea, we did…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Actually Alan, the Mayflower is in Plymouth next to Plymouth Rock. Plimoth Plantation is 2 miles south of Plymouth. We went to the Plantation after seeing Plymouth but it was 4 o’clock when we got there and it closed at 5, so we came back the next day. It’s very interesting since the people portraying the citizens of Plimoth and crew members of the Mayflower are completely in character with the mode of dress from the era and the old English way of speaking. Very easy to talk to and explain their different functions both on the ship and at the plantation.
I can’t imagine 160 some people sailing across the Atlantic stuffed in that little ship. Amazing!
Good to see those pics Ken, thank you. She still looks fantastic even if it was nearly fifty years ago when I last saw her. It is strange that in the UK only the Mayflower is remembered, There were many pilgrim ships, many much larger than Mayflower. The Ark and The Dove were two others that went, I believe, to other parts of New England.
Good stuff…looks like Todd now needs unit 2006 for his livery since the cat is outta the bag!
Ken is such a tattle tale!

What clothes? I was getting a full body tan!
Btw Ken. You need to go to Fall River to see the Lizzie Borden House, Battleship Cove and the Old Colony RR Museum.
