Is it necessary? please add "political" -- NT

I know this is the OFF-topic forum. However, I, and perhaps others, come to the trains forums to get away from the banter on CNN, FOX, MSMBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, etc. If you feel compelled to make political commentary, would it be possible to include “Political” in the Subject. That way, those of us that do not wish to read political commentary can avoid that thread.

Note: I have not indicated any political leanings one way or the other.

Jim, I can at times sympathize with your feelings, but, this forum in particular was created for that purpose. Just assume anything here is political. I think right now it’s batting about 99%. Other general off topic chatter usually winds up in the “General” forum.

I think it would be better if we just eliminated the forum. I come here to talk trains, but lately it’s been more about politics; very little about trains. :frowning:

PErsonally I usually just stay out of the OFF TOPIC venue…just long enough to hit “MARK ALL TOPICS READ” …Time for another Flame War???MWUHAHAHAHAHAHHA

Truthfully folks…in all the major modeling type Forums I subscribe to, (Spacecraft, Warships, Aircraft, Cardmodeling…) they all have a forum similar to this…its just sorta human nature I guess, and yep just like this one they tend to be the most heavily trafficed ones…cause EVERYONE likes a fight! (Why else do we have ANOTHER Rocky Movie out?)

Since there will ALWAYS be off-topic posts, a repository for them is a good idea, in my opinion. I too like to “check off” new posts, and wish there was a “mark all topic read” button somewhere, but that’s a minor thing.

I see the moderator has posted a request to put all off-topic posts in the off-topic forum. I heartily agree, thanks Bob.

There is a button (link) at the top of each forums topic list. I use it regularly in here.
