So am I the only one that feels like I was voted prom queen because I just took ownership of a new to me locomotive. Thanks to Chuck Inlow I am a proud owner of a bouncing baby GP9 High hood that will eventually be transformed into a phoenix from the ashes as a chopped nosed geep 9 owned by St Maries River Railroad.
it’s just you (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
Yup all you…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Ha Ha, I hope you realize it all good natured ribbing Devon!
Be sure to check for cracked axles and collapsed “skate” springs.
Regards, Greg

Me too. Bought a trashed Bachmann 2-6-0 for $75, with a broken spur gear, missing stack, and other broken bits. But mostly it is complete and much more detailed than I expected. It is sitting on the shelf where I can glance at it while I decide whether to fix it [I bought it for the tender and a couple of other details.]
Pete, sounds like kit-bash fodder to me.
Devon, is it done, yet? (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)
I would expect making a comment like being voted prom queen would come with a raft of crap floating my way(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)
Steve,
Well no its not done yet but dang it I want to tear into it. But… I think I am going to hold off on bashing it for awhile. I think (I hope and pray) that this coming paycheck I will be sending Tony and order for a two radio controls (ESC/RX) and a transmitter. If that’s the case I will install one of the control boards in this loco and be able to use it at club meets. This will give me something to run. Then get the get the mogul finished and then bash the Geep.

In college my girl was voted Home Coming Queen, as her escort I was voted The Beast.
Fame can be so fleeting!
Is your plate full yet?

Yes the plate is full. That’s why I am going to not tear into it right away. Well that’s one of the reasons. I have just realized I am a member of the big train scratch builders club. I now have three locomotives for projects and no completed locos.
Devon,
I think you’ve successfully been suckered into large scale now… Time to dump the small trains and focus on the big stuff. Don’t remind me off all of my projects that I want to do.

Funny you say dump the little trains. About the only reason I was going to hang onto my HO stuff was because it was my St Maries Railroad stuff. Well now it looks like the STMA is going large sale too. I Have to much tied up in HO stuff for STMA though. If I get rid of it then I will have to scratch build a Jordon Spreader…
Seriously I have already decided to relegate my HO into a static display of their yard.
I didn’t mention I am a proud owner now of an aristocrat fish belly flat from ebay that will be the building blocks for the log car.
Oh, good. On Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and alternate Saturdays, my railroad is the Washington Idaho & Montana Railway Company (WIM). We interchange with the St Marie’s River Branch of the Milwaukee at Bovil, Idaho. We’ll just have to fudge history a bit, is all.

At least temporarily with a borrowed Northern Pacific loco
