Iron Mt Coal Car consist

I seem to have accumulated 9 Iron Mt Coal Cars in 1:20.3 from AMS.

I tried making some ore/coal loads but did not like how they turned out

So I contacted Reindeer Pass as they show loads for various hoppers/ore cars and asked for coal loads for the subject car.

They had them made and I picked them up at Marty Cozad’s weekend

I had time to install them and used a Bachman Climax to pull the load, they looked good

Jerry

That looks very nice Jerry

shoot a close up of the loads, Please

Dennis

As requested Dennis

Nice little train. I’ve been toying with a few of those two axle cars as well.

These are great little cars, do you know if Reindeer Pass has more coal loads for them? I could use some!

Vince

Yes your railroad needs some revenue! Renee and Mike made them up at my request, and I am sure they had more, and can certainly have some made if they are out. They even had them shipped to Nebraska to save me shipping!

Ah, it can be done in an afternoon. Its not that bad. The hard part is finding the free time.

Nice looking trains Jerry & Vincent. I bet those probably look great meandering down a curvy main line. Carefull, you guys will have to build mines to pull them into for fill up…

Thanks Randy-

I have had a mine on the SC&M for several years, but it was served by a few sorry BM ore cars, the ones that spontaneously fall apart while running, so the is a major upgrade for the RR. Now to get them dirty! It was great seeing you at EBT, hope to see you there again some time. Or at York in March?

That sounds like an interesting story.

Geez every time I think I want to make a consist of small ore cars I am given reason not too. I like those AMS cars.

Devon, I like mine.

They came from a Big Bird set I bought at a yard sale. I keep looking for more, but I haven’t found any yet.

The Iron Mt ore cars a great. Im always keeping my eyes open for them when a deal comes up. Im up to 6 already.

Shawn

Yes I know what you mean, i had 4, then 8 now 10…how did that happen/

ECLSTS in York was fertile hunting grounds…

Jerry

Jerry, I do not know how that happens. I think certain cars reproduce when I am not looking.

David, that’s it! Sort of like clothes hangars in dark closets…if only…

Jerry

Oh yea, cloths hangers. Where the heck did all them cheap wire hangers come from?
